Originally founded in 1974 by the late J. Leland Gourley, it continues to be a strong and widely-quoted editorial voice on local, state and national public affairs. It is a weekly broadsheet publication that has won numerous awards in the past 40 years. OKC FRIDAY is still locally owned by the same family and is the largest, paid-circulation, legal weekly newspaper in Oklahoma. News content is all local, focusing on civic and private social events, country clubs, high school news and sports, the arts, Nichols Hills and The Village governments.
