JM Bears celebrate Black History Month

Fifteen senior men attended the Black Male Summit at Rose State College.
This was the first time Rose State hosted this event. The seniors got a tour of the campus and listened to several black entrepreneurs and educators. The goal of the conference was to excite our young, black men about attending and completing college.
“I enjoyed listening from young men that were in my shoes just a little over 10 years ago and overcame obstacles to be successful,” Terry Parker, a senior who attended the event, said. “It gave me hope.”
